STEM Education

Monday through Thursday. Can work around school and/or home life. Prepares curriculum for youth, with a focus on K-12 grades. Networks with mainstream and homeschool teachers, external groups, and organizations throughout the community to bring people to the garden. Educating our youth on the importance of growing and eating healthy fruits and vegetables, and teaching students the importance of giving back to our community.

To schedule a class or group visit to our Pollinator Garden, please call 928-432-6984. We would love to host your classes or organization.

Are you a Homeschool Teacher?

Please take a moment to complete a form and contact us. We’d love to work with you to teach your children the importance of growing their food. It’s a great way to get some fresh air, and your kids will learn hands-on about planting, harvesting, and the importance of weeding. They'll also be educated about what it is like to grow an organic garden and eat healthy.

We have a curriculum that goes back into the classroom to continue the children’s education. We can also accommodate projects to take back into the classrooms for continued STEM Program learning.

STEM Educator

Josh Chlarson attended Thatcher High School before taking some classes at EAC. He moved on to study Math at Northern Arizona University but didn't complete his degree. Instead, he went into the construction field and started a family. Recently, he took additional classes through EAC in cybersecurity and IT support. Josh has always had a passion for math, science, and physics, and discovered a love for teaching through his children. He seizes every opportunity to learn something new, which has sparked his interest in Permaculture and Regenerative Agriculture. He is excited to explore these fields in his new position at the farm.

During each summer, ONFP hosts a Summer Youth Program. This program is open to local youths who can come and work, learn, and get paid for four weeks during the summer. Through a grant from the United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties, we were able to host 12 youth.

Each year, we post on Facebook about the Summer Youth Program. The youth submits a resume and is then selected to participate in the program. Learning farming skills and getting paid to learn.

Let’s work together.
